As a manufacturer of American standard switchgear, we cannot be arrogant, let alone talk to ourselves. Why do we design and produce like that? Naturally, there is a reason.
We feel good about ourselves. North American switchgear is designed seventy or eighty years ago and is very outdated. Our switchgear equipment is so advanced, with advanced drawer plug-in units, advanced monitoring functions, beautiful craftsmanship appearance, and so on. It seems that ours can be used without any problems around the world.
Setting aside the requirements of standards such as ANSI/IEEE/UL and product reliability, let alone the fact that North American medium and low voltage switchgear products have not changed for decades, and the products of various manufacturers look very similar. The new products launched by local North American companies are still traditional designs, and the products of major manufacturers are similar. Why is this the case? Conservative and stubborn, not accepting new things?
I don't think so. There are many innovative products from tech giants such as Apple in North America, and new ideas and concepts are constantly emerging. So why haven't there been many new concepts and designs on switch devices like in other parts of the world?

As a power product, American standard switchgear has extremely high safety requirements, and the dead front of switchgear is a typical example. Dead - dead, front - front.

The secondary wiring of North American switchgear includes the circuit breaker compartment, which serves as the primary compartment for installing the circuit breaker handcart, as well as the secondary compartment containing the control power supply, current transformers, circuit breaker opening and closing auxiliary switches, circuit breaker handcart position auxiliary switches, terminals, and monitoring, control, and protection circuits. All operation control and protection functions of a circuit breaker's outgoing circuit are centralized, making installation, maintenance, and replacement extremely convenient.

In places that require high-end equipment, metal armored power switchgear, large switches, system level protection, and higher protection levels are naturally required. In low-end areas, simplicity, practicality, and safety come first.
